Where to Turn If You Have
Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome

Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome could be the reason for your exhaustion. Like many people, you have gone to your doctor because of your debilitating fatigue. You probably haven't gotten a diagnosis or treatment. Do not despair. You can start feeling better with the information that follows.

Why am I so tired all the time? You probably asked your doctor that question. You also explained your low-grade depression, trouble sleeping and food cravings. Maybe an antidepressant was prescribed.

These basic symptoms - exhaustion, low-grade depression, trouble sleeping and food cravings - are indications of other conditions. These and many more are primary adrenal fatigue symptoms.

Medical Help

The mainstream medical community does not consider Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome a viable diagnosis. Therefore, many people suffer unnecessarily. This belief prevails because laboratory tests to determine adrenal gland functioning are misleading. Low adrenal function as in adrenal fatigue shows up as borderline normal on cortisol level testing.

Many people prefer guidance from a medical doctor. When I developed many debilitating symptoms I visited my doctor. I left the visit with five different prescriptions. I almost cried because I knew the prescriptions would make me feel worse than I already did.

I found my "savior" from the ACAM (American College for the Advancement of Medicine) website. My doctor promotes healing by using nutrition based therapies. I didn't even know about Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome at the time. Lucky for me, she did.

I was about to quit my job because I was so sick. I also had a baby to take care of. I was so exhausted, I could barely function. She gave me adrenal glandulars, DHEA and Pregnenolone. I felt better almost immediately. I then had the energy to do what I needed to regain my health.

Helpful Resources

If you have been suffering from unrelieved fatigue, you must seek treatment. Weakened adrenals lead to many other conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, hypoglycemia and arthritis. The hormones secreted these glands are cortisol and DHEA. They have a part in a multitude of bodily functions such as bone formation, estrogen/testosterone production and the proper use of glucose.

James L. Wilson, N.D. has been working to expose the debilitating effects of Adrenal Fatigue. His book Adrenal Fatigue - The 21st Century Stress Syndrome is chock full of questionnaires, treatments and even recipes to start you on the road to recovery. It is a must have for anyone who suspects they may have this condition. Doctor Wilson states in his book that 80% of our adult population could be affected with stress-related low adrenal function.

A wonderful blog to get advice and hope and give some as well is Fatigue Begone. Sometimes it feels no one else has experienced your symptoms or knows your hopelessness. The lack of understanding of this condition can be frustrating. This blog is the place to share those feelings.

With the proper self care and treatment, Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome is totally curable. The resources given have helped me tremendously and hopefully you too.
